Privacy Policy

Information I collect

I collect information in three ways.

First, when you use one of the assessment tools on this site (Scorecard, AI Readiness Assessment, or similar), I store your answers and the results generated from those answers. If you request a copy of your results by email, I also store the name, company, and email address you provide. If you complete an assessment but do not request an email copy, I still store your answers and results but without any information that identifies you personally.

Second, when you submit the reference form on my site, I store the information you provide about our working relationship, along with the testimonial text you approve for publication and your contact information. Nothing you submit appears on the site until you explicitly approve it.

Third, when you visit any page on this site, my hosting provider (Vercel) and analytics provider (Google Analytics) automatically collect standard technical information: your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on each page, and referring website. This is the same information virtually every website collects.

How I use this information

Assessment submissions help me in three ways: to send you your results when you request them, to understand patterns across my audience so I can improve the tools and write useful articles, and occasionally to reach out with relevant follow-up if you have left your contact information.

Reference submissions are used to populate the testimonials section of this site, with your approval.

Analytics information helps me understand which content is useful, where my audience comes from, and how to improve the site.

I do not sell your information to anyone. I do not rent it. I do not share it with marketers. Your information stays with me and the service providers I use to operate this site (listed below).

Service providers

To run this site, I use the following third party services. Each of these companies has access to certain information and has their own privacy practices that govern how they handle it:

• Vercel hosts the website and handles basic server logs.
• Supabase stores submission data and testimonial records.
• Anthropic processes reference submissions to generate draft testimonial text.
• Resend delivers email (scorecard results, reference confirmations, admin notifications).
• Google Analytics provides traffic analytics.
• Business Identity LLC hosts my business email.

I have chosen reputable providers and review their terms periodically. If you want to review their privacy practices, you can find each company's privacy policy on their own website.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for two purposes: to keep me logged in to the admin area of my own site, and to let Google Analytics count returning visitors. It does not use tracking cookies from advertising networks, because I do not run ads.

Data retention

I keep assessment submissions indefinitely unless you ask me to delete yours. Reference records stay as long as they are published on the site, or for my own records if you decide to withdraw them. Analytics data rolls off automatically on Google's standard schedule.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to:

• Tell you what information I have about you
• Delete any information about you from my systems
• Correct anything that is inaccurate
• Withdraw a published testimonial or change how it is attributed

If you are in a jurisdiction that gives you specific rights under privacy law (for example the General Data Protection Regulation in the European Union or the California Consumer Privacy Act in California), I honor those rights and you can exercise them through the email address above.

Children

This site is aimed at business leaders and is not intended for anyone under 18. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

I use standard security practices to protect the information I collect: encrypted connections (HTTPS), secret management for service credentials, and access controls on the admin area. No system is perfectly secure, and I will notify you promptly if I become aware of any incident that exposes your information.

Changes to this policy

If I make material changes to this policy, I will update the effective date at the top and post a notice on the site. For minor changes like typos or formatting, I will just make the change.
