AI governance
State-level AI laws are moving faster than most small and mid-size companies realize. Colorado, California, Illinois, and Utah already have enforceable requirements around AI disclosure, high-risk AI systems, and automated decision-making. Many companies using AI for hiring, customer communications, or care decisions are out of compliance without knowing it. The companies that avoid expensive remediation are the ones that inventory their AI use now, classify which systems carry regulatory risk, and build a simple governance register before an audit or complaint forces the issue.
